My friend "LT" works at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York Presbyterian (try saying that 10 times fast) and got a chance to see American Idol's 2nd place winner Adam Lambert perform for the kids.
Although Kris won (who was actually here 2 days ago performing), Adam was by far my favorite.
He sang "Tears of a Clown" by the legendary Smokey Robinson, answered peoples questions, and signed autographs.
On top of that, he even visited each floor to see patients that were too sick to come down to the performance. He was so amazing with the kids and really friendly. I can't wait for his CD to come out!
carrmuse2 - The more I see and hear about this young man the more I like him. He has said many times he would like to be a role model for kids and I think he is an excellent one. He has worked hard to get where he is today and even during a very hectic week for him he took time out to come and sing for the kids and visit with them. I know we will be seeing much more of this gifted individual in the future.
binahlinda - As the mother of a special needs child, my son and I have been in and out of the children's hospital here in Houston for the last 15 years, sometimes 3 or 4 times a year.
We have been there when celebrities, astronauts, race care drivers, rodeo cowboys etc., come in to visit with the children, sign autographs and take pictures.
Is this a PR stunt? It doesn't matter.
All that matters is, that, that person made a difference in the life of a sick/terminally ill child that day.
I will always remember these visitors and the little bit of happiness and smiles it brought to my son and the families who are there under some very serious and stressful conditions.
Adam seems like the type who would like to do this.
It happens all the time and sometimes we don't hear about it!
Thank you Adam!
Hanoi - I wonder why he didn't dress like he normally does? Oh I get it now. It was a publicity stunt and he couldn't show up in his normal gear with makeup and nails. What a fake he is.
mmbb09 - Interesting "publicity stunt", its being unannounced.
LittleJerry - finally a picture where he isn't dressed in drag. in all seriousness, howwwwwwwwww diddddddd heeeeeee notttttttttt winnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!
KatieJ - I think maybe the song he sang was "Tracks of My Tears", the Smokey Robinson song he sang on AI? It's great to hear he's sharing his talents with these kids. Sweet.
Bean623 - That is so cool of him to visit the floors of children who could not come see him, he definitely made them very happy! It's awesome to hear such nice stories about celebs. Hope he never changes.
BenBuddy646 - i hope he changes to liking girls. he would be so much cooler
cheer4me - I love that he is familiar with what it is like to look up to celebs as months ago he was just an ordinary guy himself. I hope he stays this down to earth!
