Solange Knowles, who seems to be a little Beyonce in the making, was out and about this week in New York City doing different promotional events.
The actress/singer became the spokesperson for MTV's campaign "Say Yes, Yes, Yes to Safe Sex" and made an appearance at the MTV Store this week to kick off the campaign.
Some people find it ironic that Solange is the spokesperson of this campaign because she clearly didn't practice it. Where is the proof you ask? Well she got pregnant when she was only 17 years old.
But hey, at least she is doing something to create awareness. The actress said that she wanted to make people aware of the importance of safe sex when she learned of the statistics -- more than 3,000 people under the age of 25 get affected with HIV on a daily basis.
Solange is said to make appearances at high schools to inform today's youth about safe practices.
Solange was also at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where I got to see her as she arrived for the taping. She looked gorgeous as always and didn't seem to mind the attention. In fact she loved it.
She was way late to the taping as the featured musical guest but still found the time to sign a few autographs and pose as she went in.
When a person in the crowd told her that they loved her in 'Bring It On' she laughed it off and said thanks. Glad that she is not embarrassed to have appeared in the movie like so many other actors who hate to be reminded of movies they have starred in.
