While out doing some shopping yesterday in Los Angeles, I happened to see Brendan Fraser with some friends. I couldn't believe it was him--I just had to have a picture with him.
I have heard horror stories about him in the past that he hates taking photos with fans, and will rarely do them even at his own premieres. I still didn't care and ran right up to him to ask.
This is what I got.
Me: "Brenden, can I take a picture with you? I'm a HUGE fan!"
Brenden: "No, but I'll trade you a picture for a hand shake."
WHAT? A handshake? I don't want a handshake! At first I thought he was just being nice to shake my hand and he was actually going to do the photo after.
Boy was I wrong. He stalled and chatted with me until his elevator was there and then rudely just walked away. Thankfully my friend had my camera waiting and saw the situation pan out.
He knew the photo wasn't going to happen, so he quickly snapped this of the two of us shaking hands. How does an A-list celebrity walk out into public and not expect fans to approach him. I was so confused. Well I guess this one is good enough!
Bobpiv - I hate when celebs do that no pic, but I'll shake your hand thing. It's lame and phony on their part. It's happened to me a few times with different celebs.
NativeNYker - Its so hard to believe that this is the same man that once had the rocking body in George of the Jungle flick.
