Being the huge Philadelphia sports fan that I am, I wanted to partake in the city's parade for our new World Champions. Having not won a World Series since 1980, Philadelphia was due for one.
On Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 twenty-eight years after their first title, they won the World Series beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4 games to 1.
The parade was held on Halloween and 2 Million people showed up to support the Phillies. It was unlike anything I had seen before.
There was red everywhere you turned and everybody was there for one common goal. To support the Phillies.
Luckily, I was able to score some tickets into Eagles Stadium to see the players up close and personal. My friend Brianna, my mom, my dad and I were all able to get within 10 feet of the players.
When our favorite players approached we yelled and they would wave right at us. I remember we yelled for Jayson Werth, my favorite player, and he waved right at us.
The parade was amazing but the city and the players coming together was the BEST!
