On October 17th, 2009, one of my dreams came true…. I met the BEST, most talented, most AMAZING basketball player this world has ever seen… Kobe Bryant.

My friend invited me to a Lamar Odom meet and greet. Now, I’ve met Lamar before at a Lakers party, but this time, Lamar’s special guest was #24. I knew I couldn’t miss this event for ANYTHING. The event cost $400 (yes, there are TWO zeros after the 4), but because my friend knew the person running the whole thing, we got in for free.

So we got there, and walked inside while everyone was waiting in line. Then it happened.. First KOBE then Lamar. They started walking on the other side of the gym to the tables. I thought I was going to pass out. So we were standing around and Kobe kept looking in our direction.. he had sunglasses on so we weren’t sure. I waved at him (to see if he was looking) and well… he waved back. I completely and utterly freaked out and he started laughing.

Then this guy who was with Kobe (ended up being his manager) came up to us and asked if we wanted to meet him. We obviousslyyy said YES, so he took us to Kobe and said “these ladies want to meet you.” Kobe looked up and smiled. I went first. My entire body was SHAKING. I couldn’t think of what to say.. so I said the only thing that came to mind, “Kobe, if Lebron thinks he’s king… then you’re basketball God.” (Yes, I ACTUALLY said that!) He laughed and said thank you! :) First I gave him the basketball the guy who got us in asked me to have him sign, and he asked my name, but I didn’t know he was going to write it on the ball. I realized it and said “NO NO NO! You don’t have to put my name on it!!!” I was REALLY hoping he didn’t think I was going to sell it or anything. But then the guy who brought us up there said, “oh ok, that’s for your friend,” so I think they knew who it was for. Btw.. he had put “To: V”… I should have kept the ball!

Then I gave him the picture I had bought.. it was cardboard framed with him holding his 2 trophies. He asked if he should put my name on this one, I said “YES! PLEASE!” and he went on to spell it “Violette” …I think im going to legally change it. Kobe can do no wrong.

Then we went to the regular line to meet Lamar. I was taking pics of Kobe and one of the pics I noticed he was looking directly at my camera. I wasn’t sure so after I took the pic I noticed he WAS looking at my camera, so I smiled at him and he smiled back. :)I had my Rich Soil T-Shirt and a pic of him I had bought there. I went up to him and said “OMG, hi Lamar” He smiled and I said I have candy for you! I took out a king size Hershey’s white chocolate cookies and cream bar (his fav), a bag of Lindor chocolate and Red Vines. He was like oooo thank you!!! So I gave him my Rich Soil T-shirt and he said “thank you for supporting me” I said “OF COURSE!!! I got this the second you re-signed.” Then I said “I tweet you.. A LOT… sorry!! :/” He said “no no, its ok.”

So then he was trying to sign my Tee, and he’s like, you gotta help me stretch out the shirt, do you want me to use silver or black pen? I said it doesn't matter. He asked if I was sure and I burst out, “BLACK!” He laughed and was like, ya it would look better. As I was helping him stretch the shirt out, my hands were shaking so much that he noticed and laughed. So he asked me my name and the spelling for it, HAHA. He signed my shirt and wrote “Thanks a bunch!” I almost died. Then I gave him the pic and he signed it, and then we took our pic together!

This ended up being one of the MOST amazing days of my life!!!
What do you think?
