  • Fred Durst wearing the infamous red hat! It's been awhile. The dude is living in an old folk's home in California now, ain't he?

"Trapped At An O-town Music Video Taping - A Never-ending Loop"Word of advice for those who decide to be an extra in a band's music video... COMMIT A LIFETIME TO THE FILMING. My friends and I eagerly decided that it would be an awesome idea to watch the original Making the Band stars, O-Town, film their hit single "All or Nothing." The whole video is a concert scenario, which was great... the first three, four, five takes. Nearly forty or fifty... maybe even a hundred (I lost count, of course) takes of this infectious, mushy ballad later, we decided we'd had enough. Well, the producers didn't allow us to leave! We wound up at the shoot for over ten hours. The plus side is that the guys took tons of photographs with us -- some of the individual boy band members even took numerous pictures (bad memories?) with each of us.
"Another Account Of Jay-Z Refusing To Take Pics With Fans"Someone on this site posted a picture OF Jay-Z, explaining that the rapper usually doesn't take photos with fans. True in my account! On this night at a New York City event, Jay-Z refused to take photos with anyone and instead, stood back as we snapped pictures of him from the sidelines. I guess, though some may exist, a photograph with Jay-Z is a wild-card rarity.
"Throwing Up Some Gangsta... Er, Oops... Rock Signs."Taylor Hanson and I decided, one night after a Hanson show, that we were going to throw up some gangsta hand gestures. Clearly, we disregarded how far from"hood" we are because these are definitely rock signs -- and upside down, distorted ones at that. The picture does show how cool and normal these boys can be with their fans.
"Smaller And Even More Peppier In Real Life"I was very giddy about meeting celebrity cook, Rachael Ray back when she was signing copies of her magazine debut at a Barnes and Nobel in New York. I wasn't sure she would live up to the peppiness she portrays on TV but she absolutely did! My mother, who I just had to take with me exclaimed, "You are so much smaller than on TV! You're tiny!" (This is true. She is!) and Rachael laughed and said she gets that a lot. She seemed like a genuinely sweet person who certainly wasn't putting on an act for the Food Network fans.
"Mark Wahlberg -- Just A Regular Guy"I wasn't star struck at all when I met Mark Wahlberg years ago outside a posh New York City hotel. Perhaps that was because of his much laid back, chill persona. He did not act like a celebrity AT ALL. Or maybe it was because his career had yet to see huge blockbuster roles like Dignam in The Departed or Max Payne. Nowadays, Wahlberg is executive producer of the hit show Entourage, but when we took this photo I was still envisioning him as Marky Mark.
"Fred Durst Really Does Flirt With The Ladies"Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit has earned the reputation of a playboy and I can definitely see why. I noticed he was rather flirtatious (while keeping it lcoolr) with the ladies when I met him at the rehearsals for MTV's VMAs a few years back. He wasn't overly friendlyh maybe even a little pompous, but still nicer than Ird originally assumed. We also met Wes that day and he was a bit friendlier that Durst, signing autographs and taking photos with anyone and everyone that asked.
"Janet Jackson / Jimmy Jam?"I knew him as Janet Jackson's producer ... and only after someone told me why Jimmy Jam looked so familiar to me. This picture was taken outside a classy dinner in New York City, flanked with celebrities far too old for me to recognize. Jimmy Jam was friendly and more than happy to oblige for a photo op. Needless to say, I didn't see Janet Jackson that night or anyone more noteworthy than this music mogul.
"Meeting Benji And Joel Madden Before Paris And Nicole"I met Benji and Joel of Good Charlotte on a number of occasions and they were always extremely down-to-earth and sweet. You just don't have a bad experience with these guys. I remember once telling Joel how much one of their songs really helped me through a rough time and he was more than gracious. Of course, this was a ways back (before they started dating Nicole and Paris) but let's hope the twin brothers haven't changed for the worse! These particular photos were taken outside a GC concert in New York City and at a taping of Conan Or Brian.
